The UNICEF office in Tehran is to present special award at the 32nd Int’l Film Festival for Children and Youth.

The UNICEF office in Tehran has set to present special award at the 32nd edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth (ICFF) in Isfahan.

The special award of the United Nations Children's Fund will be dedicated to a movie that provides a profound insight into children’s issues.

The decision has been made based on an agreement between the UNICEF office in Tehran and the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

All the features as well as medium-length and short films competing in the Iranian national section will be reviewed for the UNICEF award.

The films will be reviewed by a special committee under the supervision of Iranian actress Mahtab Keramati, who is also a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

The director of the festival, Alireza Tabesh, the director of the UNICEF communications department in Iran, Bahareh Yeganefar, and Keramati recently discussed the details of the award during a meeting at Iran’s Farabi Cinema Foundation.

“Collaboration with UNICEF can help achieve the goals of the festival leading to innovation in the children’s entertainment industry,” Tabesh said.

“This collaboration can continue throughout the years and develop further by organizing a number of events dedicated to children, helping the future of Iranian children to flourish,” he added.

Movies with children’s daily life concerns, realism and creativity in their screenplays will be reviewed for the UNICEF award.

According to the 32nd ICFF website, the event aims to enhance the cinematic products of this age bracket and introduce the top works in national and international arenas.

The ICFF is organized annually by the Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs, Farabi Cinema Foundation and the Municipality of Isfahan.
